Driver Experience

Drive a real race car.

Spend a day at the track one-on-one with Kyle Schwab, and end it with 30 minutes in the race car on your own.

Southern Arizona

What it feels like

A race car feels nothing like the car you drive every day. You sit low, strapped in tight. The steering reacts to the smallest movement of your hands, and the brakes are far stronger than anything you’ve used on the road.

It takes a few laps to get used to, so Kyle walks you through it one step at a time, starting with the basics. By the time you head out on your own, you’ll have seen every corner a few times.

What happens on the day

Kyle Schwab runs Schwab Motorsports and teaches every Driver Experience. Your day has four parts.

  1. Step 1

    Classroom chat

Sit down with Kyle before you drive. You’ll go over the rules, the flags, track etiquette and the racing line, plus what to do if something goes wrong. Ask as many questions as you like.

  2. Step 2

    Ride along with Kyle

Next, you ride in the passenger seat of Kyle’s lead car, the car you’ll follow later on. Kyle drives the racing line and talks you through each corner, so you know what to look for when it’s your turn.

  3. Step 3

Follow Kyle in the race car

Now you’re behind the wheel of the race car, following Kyle’s lead car around the track. It starts slow. The pace only goes up when you’re both comfortable.

  4. Step 4

    30 minutes on your own

When you and Kyle agree you’re ready, you head out in the race car with no one to follow and drive at your own pace.

Who it’s for

It’s a good fit if one of these sounds like you.

  • First time on a track

  • Track-day drivers

You already drive your own car at track days and want to know how a purpose-built race car compares.

  • A gift

Common questions

Do I need racing experience?

No. The day starts with the basics and moves at a pace that suits you. If you’ve driven on track before, mention it when you get in touch.

Where and when does it take place?

At a race track in Southern Arizona. Tell us which days work for you and we’ll reply with the dates and track we can offer.

How much does it cost?

We quote the fee along with your dates. Tell us roughly when you’d like to come out and we’ll include it in our reply.

How is this different from a race seat?

The Driver Experience is for anyone who wants to drive a race car, with Kyle teaching you step by step. Race seats are for experienced drivers who want a test day or a seat at a race. You’ll need a competition license to race.
